PHYSIOTHERAPY AT CURA
WHAT IS A PHYSIOTHERAPIST?
A Physiotherapist
is a health care professional who uses a
physical approach to promote, maintain and restore physical,
psychological and social well-being.
What happens at your consultation?
Physiotherapists at Cura look at the patient as a whole. Taking into
account previous medical history, work and lifestyle before devising
a programme, enabling us to tailor treatment to the individual
needs. On most occasions; advice, education and
often treatment can be given as part of the initial consultation
Our Physiotherapists are specialists in treating:
- Neck & Back pain
- Upper & Lower limb Joint problems
- Persistent joint pain
- Sports injuries
- Post Operative Rehabilitation
|
Treatment may include one or more of the following;
- Joint mobilisation/manipulation
- Soft tissue mobilisation/massage
- Exercise/movement re-education,
including hydrotherapy
- Electrotherapy i.e. ultra-sound, interferential,
TENS
- Acupuncture
- Education is at the forefront of any successful treatment,
so advice and home exercise programmes are normally devised for
the individual, helping to maintain good function and reduce the
chance of injury recurrence.
|
A full physical examination of posture and movement, assessing
muscle, joint and nerve integrity. You will normally be asked to
remove items of clothing to reveal problem areas allowing for
thorough examination. The therapist will explain their diagnosis and
discuss the most suitable treatment plan for you.
